Next level spatial branding Fontys Campus Eindhoven

Silo will return to the campus of Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. Following the inspiring spatial identity and wayfinding concept for building R3, we have now been asked to work on the new buildings R11, R12 and R13.

In the summer of 2023 no less than three new educational buildings will be completed on campus, with a green public space in between. The development is an enormous boost for the campus, which is gradually being transformed into a contemporary educational environment that puts meeting each other at the heart.

To stimulate the exchange of knowledge, facilities and activities are shared as much as possible between the various campus buildings. The intended result is increased innovation, experimentation and entrepreneurship. The campus will also open its doors to create an improved, unobstructed connection to the city of Eindhoven.

The buildings R11, R12 and R13 are designed by Barcode (architecture), Hollandse Nieuwe (interior) and OKRA (landscape). Silo has been commissioned to add a spatial-communicative layer in line with the vision of the architects, which strengthens the cohesion between the buildings, contributes to the orientation and challenges students, employees and guests to greater interaction.

The identity for R3 – one of Silo’s first spatial branding projects – won Gold at the European Design Awards in 2015. The design has stood the test of time and is still a defining characteristic of the building.
