Silo will develop a distinct spatial identity for Westraven, the main offices of Rijkswaterstaat. This project is part of a comprehensive renovation that will transform the no-nonsense building into a transparent, open governmental office.
Spatial branding focuses on making brand values tangible through visual storytelling, creating experiences that are both integrated and enduring. For Rijkswaterstaat, we will translate their core values and stories into a graphical visual layer that becomes part of the interior. By bringing the organisation’s DNA inside, we enhance the experience of all users and improve daily office life through a pleasant and inspiring work environment.
Rijkswaterstaat is dedicated to enhancing safety, mobility, and quality of life in the Netherlands. As part of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, it is responsible for the design, construction, management, and maintenance of the country’s primary infrastructure facilities.

The Westraven office is situated where the A12 motorway crosses the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal: a prominent and symbolic location for Rijkswaterstaat. Renovating and revitalizing the building will increase capacity, encourage collaboration and interaction, add flexible workspaces, and set new standards for sustainability. We will work closely with the team responsible for Westraven’s renovation, including architectural practices cepezed and Hollandse Nieuwe.
