Silo’s innovative 3D wayfinding showcase for Nimeto has been awarded one of the top accolades at the Taipei Design Awards 2024. The intricate wayfinding system serves as both a practical navigation tool and an educational resource, illustrating the transformative power of design and encouraging creativity among students.
As a vocational college for creative makers, Nimeto sought a groundbreaking wayfinding system that would surpass basic navigation. Leveraging Nimeto’s 3D printing capabilities, Silo designed a solution that combines functionality with aesthetics and tactility. The system not only facilitates navigation but also serves as a hands-on learning resource for students. The project embodies design innovation while enriching the college’s spatial identity.
With the vision of “making design the driving force to shape a better future”, the Taipei Design Awards bring together the creativity of diverse cultures. More than just a competition, it is a platform for creative exchange and design sharing, promoting cross-domain dialogue and the co-creation of better living solutions, while driving value across the design industry.
Each year, the International Council of Design (ICoD) endorses a select number of international events, recognising their alignment with ICoD’s mission to promote the value of design. For award programmes, an ICoD endorsement signifies adherence to international best practices, including jury integrity, evaluation criteria, and intellectual property protection. ICoD is the world’s largest representative of professional designer entities.
