Amare The Hague opens up

On Thursday 2 September, The Hague’s new cultural venue Amare was officially handed from the contractor to the municipality to its users. During the weekend of 4 and 5 September, Amare opened its doors to the public for the first time. Thousands of curious people took a look.

Amare is the new cultural hub of The Hague and the new home for four renowned organisations: Nederlands Dans Theater, Residentie Orkest, Royal Conservatoire, and Amare. Silo is Amare’s partner for branding and has developed the brand identity, campaigns, wayfinding and spatial branding.

Amare’s programming will start in the coming weeks. On 19, 20 and 21 November 2021, the spectacular Open Festival will take place. Together with (inter)national performers and partners in the city, the four residents of Amare will present a welcoming opening programme with dance, classical music, pop artists from The Hague, hip hop and a family day.

The striking and sustainable complex has four performance halls with a total capacity of 3,600 visitors. In addition, there are two restaurants, a conference center, studios, classrooms and a lot of public indoor space that is open to initiatives by Amare residents, other cultural institutions and the people of The Hague.
